Full Description

An aerial photograph taken in 1946 shows an hexagonal pillbox, with its entrance on the S side, facing across the R. Colne from a meadow.<1>

Hedges which previously crossed this area have now been cleared and the area is now open meadowland between Cymbeline Way and the river. The pattern of the pillbox was apparently of the 19’6” wide type, as SMR 10948 (MCC4772).
