Full Description

An aerial photograph taken in 1946 shows the shape of a pillbox, probably hexagonal, standing in the middle of a field. The entrance can be seen to be on the SE side. An aerial photograph taken in 1960 shows it to have been demolished by that date.<1><2>

From its position the pillbox would have had a commanding view from the hillside of Sheepen Farm north to the R. Colne.

The area is now Hilly Fields nature area.
