Full Description
Medieval cellars constructed of rubble walls beneath No's 48 & 49 High Street. Cellar under No.49 has traces of former beams dividing it into four bays.<1>
A watching brief was held at Hilton's shop in the High Street during which observations were made of a medieval cellar. Also excavation by G.M.R. Davies (see ECC76?).<1> Missing report! <2>
The house above was according to the RCHME 'entirely modern' however a watercolour painting of tracery of panel heads at 49 High Street is held by the museum suggesting some surviving features, from an earlier phase of building.<1>
