Full Description

An aerial photograph taken by the RAF in 1946 shows the shape of the base of an hexagonal pillbox, with its entrance on the S side, on the N boundary of the original brickworks. From this position it would have faced across open meadowland to the R. Colne some 100 yards away.<1>

By 1960, a small hut had been erected in this position and by 1980 the present housing development had built over the site.<2><3>
