Contemporary records state "..Pillbox. ......Fiddlers Wood, NW corner. Map ref 377455" (Mil. Ed.).<1>

Nothing of this pillbox remains although the ground is very disturbed in this corner of the wood. The close proximity of the infantry pillbox only 100 yards to the NE (SMR 10970/MCC5008) and Fordham Bridge only a few yards further suggests that this may have been an artillery pillbox - possibly Type FW3/28 - covering the bridge.<2>
