Full Description

Located to the rear of this listed building, This former Wheelwrights shop was recorded prior to demolition.

2 Storeys. Brick Built to first floor ground level, Then Weatherboarded on a timber frame. A brick by the doorway is dated 1875. Double door entrance in west Wall. Single pedestrian door on South Wall. Gabled Roof with Clay pantiles. No fenestration survives on North wall. Steep stairs on East Wall lead to first floor- trussed timber roof with 2 replaced fenestration on South. Wall. Taking in doors (double) in W. Wall, but no evidence of a crane. No internal technological features survive.

Outside the front of the house, set into the pavement is a wheel pattern 2m in diameter, made of iron by Bates of Colchester. For use by wheelwright.
