Full Description

C16 timber-framed barn.

The barn is of three bays and aligned east-west. The easternmost bay is a later extension. Of the original 16th century barn, only the two western bays survive, with a midstrey on the north side at the end western bay. There is an edge-halved scarf joint at the west end of the collar purlin. Joints of this type, and crown post roofs, went out of use at the end of the 16th century, making it quite possible that the barn was built at about the time of the 1546 sale.<1>
