Full Description

Roman pavement composed of different coloured tesserae discovered during digging for foundations on site of the Bear Public House.<1> The tessellated pavement was six feet below the surface, three feet long and six inches wide.<2> Thought to be part of substantial Roman building (see MCC76 and MCC80).
