Full Description

This site was developed by the then South Essex Waterworks Co. in the early 1930s. Comprising a service reservoir, pumping station, built in the International Modern Movement style, and one detached house and three pairs of semi-detached houses. All houses are constructed of red brick, with the upper of the two storeys rendered, under clay tiled roofs. The detached house, which was probably for the manager, has ground floor bay windows and timbering to the gable ends. The semi-detached houses have bay windows to the ground and first floors, with hung tiles between the floors on these bays. The projecting gables above the bays have timbering. <1>
