Full Description

Iron split-end strap-end of probable 9th to 10th century date. It is straight-sided with a debased zoomorphic terminal accentuated by notches filled with white-metal. Arcs and notches around the upper end are also picked out in white-metal. The strap was secured by a single, quite large, rivet. Length 40mm, maximum width 11mm.<1>
