Full Description

Waterfront building situated south of Hythe Hill, on Hythe Quay. Possible pre 1700 warehouse. The structure appears to be supported on 'stilts' and jettied over the water, has a valley type roof with two gable ends facing to the east, at least one chimney stack and a dorma type window within the valley.<1> A similar structure (jettied over the river) is depicted on Morant's map illustrating 'The iconography of Colchester', although is shown further to the north.<2>
