Full Description

Topographical drawing dated to 1741 shows a stone built structure with three arches.<1> The same bridge appears to have continued in use until at least c.1825 when it was depicted in an engraving.<2> The earliest recorded bridge, at this location, was a footbridge built in 1407. This was replaced by a cart bridge in 1473-4.<3>
