Former Listed Building Description:
1851. Architect Henry Hammond Hayward as part of the Branch National (Church of England) Schools on the sites Two storeys, stucco. 1-2-1 windows, the centre being recessed between projecting gabled wings. Dripmoulds to windows; six of the windows have glazing bars. Coped gable, Roof with three large stacks on the ridge, the right hand retaining the original stucco diagonal shafts. The others rebuilt in brick.
Hayward, the architect, was the builder of several buildings in Colchester notably St Mary's Terrace in Lexden Road, The Fire Office and The Albert Hall in High Street and Colchester Royal Grammar School in Lexden Road. <1>

Appears to have been demolished (by 2004). Site now a forecourt for a car sales business. Demolition confirmed by Jon Prosser Colchester DC planning Officer. Awaiting conformation from DCMS
