Summary

A robber trench (F3, c.40cm wide), dated by pottery to the 12th or 13th century, was defined at the northern end of the trial trench, sealed below L3 (a buried soil which contained peg-tile and was therefore a post-medieval horizon).

Full Description

This robber trench marked the position of a Roman wall, aligned N to S and forming the (SE?) corner of a building, with a wall aligned E to W. <1>
