15th century house

RCHME survey of 24-5 East Street. House 'was built probably in the 15th century with cross-wings at the east and west ends; the main block and the front part of the east wing were rebuilt late in the 17th century and the west wing extended south. The upper storey projects at the front end of the west wing. On the west side of the east wing is the lead head of an original roof construction' <1>

DOE survey of No's 24 & 25 East Street. Grade II. C15 origin with cross wing on the west. Much rebuilt in late C17. Two storeys and attics, timber framed and plastered, the roofs tiled, modern to No 25. The upper storey projects on the front of the west wing. Ground floor front of No 25 faced in modern brick, modern shop windows. <2>
