Summary

The top of a human skull was encountered in Foundation Pit (FP) 3, for one of the new floodlights around the perimeter of the new tennis courts in 2013, and is most likely to be an early medieval grave.

Full Description

The human skull (F3) was located just above the natural sand at a depth of 1m below modern ground level (Plate 2) and was not located within a discernable grave cut. It is probable that the skull is aasociated with a medieval grave.<1>
