Early 16th century house.

RCHME survey of 11-13 East Street. The house 'was built probably early in the 16th century. The west part altered and south wing added in the 17th century. The upper storey projects on the N front. Inside the building the east part of the front block has original moulded ceiling-beams and joists. <1>

DOE survey of No's 11 & 12 East Street. Grade II. C16 origin with C17 alterations and additions. 2 storeys, timber-framed and plastered, the roof tiled. Some timber-framing exposed and the upper storey projects on the front. Two light leaded lattice casements to ground floor, 3 light above. All modern. Modern doors. Reconditioned in 1936 by the Colchester Civic Society (plaque on the front). <2>
