Full Description

Boudiccan destruction horizon can be clearly seen as an extensive red fired clay/daub layer measuring 4.2m x 2m, 30mm in depth, occurring at 32.64m OD. Military buildings in this area would have been demolished prior to the revolt so this horizon is likely to represent the firing of an exposed clay surface by an extreme heat source in the locality, rather than being the result of the destruction of a structure itself.<1>
