Full Description

In the south eastern corner of Insula 1b, a large pit containing large quantities of painted wall plaster was partially excavated, which appeared to be a demolition dump. The pit was sealed by Roman layers and is notable due to its content of decorated plaster imitating marble, which is of a quality previously undiscovered in excavations from the town. The pit was located adjacent to building 214 (MON1072), the remains of which are most significant. <1>
