Full Description

RCHME survey of 48-51 East Hill. The house 'was built early in the 16th century and has a 17th century addition at the back. The upper storey in front has exposed timber-framing and formerly projected, but has been under built. There are two original windows under the eaves with moulded frames and mullions. Inside the building one of the middle tenements has richly moulded original ceiling-beams and joists both on the ground and first floors. The east tenement has also an original moulded ceiling-beam' <1>

DOE survey of No's 48-51 East Hill. Grafe II. C16 building, 2 storeys and attics (one gabled dormer to No 48, the roofs tiled. The upper storey formerly projected on the front but has been under built. The timber framing is exposed in the upper storey and No's 49, 50 and 51 have Two original windows under the eaves with moulded frames and mullions. Window to the upper storey are double hung sashes with glazing bars. Some small shop windows to ground floor front. <2>
