Full Description

Broadly contemporary with the cremations (ELM1400-1) and the potential field system (GRP142) is a group of post-holes or pits on the north edge of Area 10, within which two ‘4-post’ structures were identified (the other is ELM1403). The interpretation is these structures is that they were above-ground grain-storage boxes, although they could also represent houses, agricultural buildings, excarnation platform or look-out towers. Few finds were associated with the structures, although a few sherds of pottery were recovered. <1>
