One of five inhumation burials of Roman date were excavated in Area 6 parallel with the western boundary of one of the Roman fields. This is an adult grave with no bone material surviving. The wood of the coffin was not identifiable but was probably oak. Iron nails from the coffin remained. There were no grave goods and the burials were only dateable by occasional sherds of Roman pottery in the grave fills. <1>
