Full Description

A Late Iron Age cremation burial pit which appears to have been deliberately placed at a point close to a field boundary was excavation on site in 2003. The circular burial pit contained four complete pots arranged upright around one edge, a fragment of sheet iron (from a pyre deposit?) and a spread of the cremated bone of an adult, sex unknown. The pots are dated to the Late Iron Age. <1>
