Full Description

One of three definite cremation burials (CF42) identified in the northern half of Site C during the 1995-6 excavations (also MCC2907 and MCC2908) and all had suffered damage prior to excavation.

The final certain cremation burial was located to the west of the boundary ditch (MCC2893) and cannot be closely dated. A sandy grey ware jar contained the cremated remains which had been partly cut away by a contractor’s trench prior to excavation and part of the vessel lost. The remaining part of the grave pit was a rough semi-circle.<1>
