Full Description

Small heavily-leaded copper alloy figurine of a crouching hare, from the fill of ditched track or droveway (MCC2894). The animal’s body is well-modelled, with rather short ears and quite basic delineation of the eyes, nose and mouth. Small nicks are used over the body to show the animal’s fur. The quality of the naturalistic production of this piece suggests that it may be an imported early Roman item.<1>
