Full Description

A ditched track or droveway, defined by ditches BF32/CF70 and BF33 aligned NE to SW, was excavated on the eastern side of the excavated areas of both Site B and Site C. This track was approximately 6m wide and post-dates the boundary ditch (MCC2893) which had silted considerably before the track or droveway was initially constructed. This suggests that the track dates to some point in the 2nd century or later. Evidence found shows probable recutting of this feature over time. Finds from the ditches include pottery and a small copper alloy figurine of a crouching hare (MCC2900 from ditch CF70), dating to the 1st or 2nd century.<1>
