Full Description

A north south military street was examined during excavations at the Cups Hotel site in 1973 (EVT3008). The street could only be investigated within the southern section of the contractors excavation for a new basement. Surviving metalling was 1.8 metres wide and was sealed of a layer of redeposited burnt daub which was 'probably of immediate post Boudican origin.' It was not clear if the street had survived until the revolt or if it had gone out of use earlier.<2>
