Full Description

DOE survey of No's 11, 12 & 13 Trinity Street. Grade II. C16 origin but considerably altered. Inscribed on the front of No 13, 'the Fleur de Lys circa 1500'. Two storeys, timbered and plastered, tiled roofs. The upper storey projects on the front of No's 12 and 13, double hung sash windows with glazing bars, 1 ground floor flat bow window. No 11 has a modern brick front.<1>

The RCHME survey of puts 12-14 Trinity Street as one record. For the purposes of the UAD the building has been divided into two monuments following the DOE listing. According to the RCHME 'The house 'was built probably in the 16th century but has been much altered. It is of half H shaped plan with the wings extending W. The upper storey projects on part of the E side and at the ends of the wings. Condition- Poor'.<2>

A record was made during the replacement of a first floor ceiling by Colchester Archaeological in 2016.<3>
