Full Description
RCHME Survey of house in Trinity Street, south east of Tymperleys. The house 'was built probably in the 15th century and is of L-shaped plan with the wings extending towards the S and W. The W wing has exposed timber-framing, formerly internal, on the N side and two original blocked doorways with pointed heads. The South wing has been restored; the upper storey projects on most of the E side and there is a short length of original embattled bressumer. Near the South end is an archway with some reset 17th century panelling. Inside the building the W wing has an original roof-truss with an octagonal king-post with a moulded capital. A room on the first floor has the initials and date in plaster- E.R.A.R.M.R. 1670. Another room is lined with panelling of c1700 and a short length of staircase has turned balusters and moulded rail of the same date' <1>
DOE survey of No's 9 & 10 Trinity Street. Grade II. C15 origin. L shaped plan with addition at south end. Considerably restored. Two storeys, attics and cellar, timber-framed and plastered, the roofs tiled. There is a good deal of exposed timber-framing, much of it renewed, and the upper storey projects at 3 different levels on the east front. There is a piece of embattled bressumer. Windows largely C18-19 and modern. East entrance at south end No 9. At the rear the wing extending west has a small projecting wing near the east end with 2 hipped gables, interior has some panelling circa 1700. Cart entrance. <2>
