Full Description

Survey by RCHME of 6-12 Queen Street. The range of four houses 'is of red brick, with a band-course between the storeys. It was built c1698 the date on a small panel near the middle of the front. The S part of the building retains its original modillioned eaves-cornice but the rest has a later parapet. One doorway has an original architrave with egg and tongue ornament. Inside the building is some 17th century panelling and an original fireplace with a moulded architrave'.<1>

A handwritten note in the listings records a DOE survey of No's 6,8,10,12 Queen Street. Given Grade II status. The building was apparently dated 1698 but is thought to be earlier. (It has subsequently been demolished).<2>
