Full Description

Two Roman floor levels identified at the Caters Site on Culver Street. Associated with a large masonry structure (MCC2195). The floors were identical. The first floor had bedding three inches thick consisting of hard packed grey sandy material under a layer, five inches thick, of fawn mortar fragments, with the occasional piece of pink wall plaster. The second bedding four inches thick and the crumbled mortar five inches.<1>
