Full Description
In 1936, a trench for a water main was cut along the west kerb of Head Street, and the appearance of a street running E-W was noticed at the east end of Church Street North. The section shown begins 13ft south of the south kerb of the latter street. Hull comments, 'The position is 90ft north of the expected line. If a road at all, it is possibly not a town street, but one of the several 18ft roads which have been found outside the walls, and which seem to have been laid down before the colonia was planned.'<1> Could be a yard or street from the Legionary Fortress?
