Full Description

During excavations at the Altnacealgach site in 1939, Hull discovered what was believed to be a Roman military ditch which, from depressions in the field surface, appeared to form a roughly rhomboid-shaped enclosure - possibly the remains of an unfinished fort. However, a sewage trench cut across the eastern half of it's projected extent showed that the enclosure was in fact unfinished as no ditch was found for its north or south sides.<1><2>
