Full Description

A Roman? ditch was discovered during excavations at the Altnacealgach site in 1939. The ditch was situated to the west of the ditch of Heath Farm Dyke North and ran parallel to it and may have been added to strengthen the original dyke. The ditch ran up to a rhomboid shaped enclosure (MCC2173) to the north and appeared to be coming to a butt end immediately south of the trenches and Hall found nothing beyond.<1><2>
