Full Description

DOE survey of No 57 North Hill. Grade II. C17 building, altered in the C18, 2 storey, timber framed and plastered, the roofs tiled, cellars. The upper storey projects on the front, double hung sash windows, some with glazing bars, ground floor has large bay window and beneath it a railed enclosure to basement or cellars. Door case has flat modillioned hood and plain pilasters, and is reached by a flight of steps with curving handrail.<1>

RCHME survey of 57 North Hill. 'The house has a projecting upper storey on the E front. The door to the cellar is original and of moulded battens. Inside the building is a moulded ceiling-beam, probably reused.' <2>
