Full Description

One of five burial urns found in Water Lane (Middleborough), Colchester, in 1889.

On August 21st 1889 Corporation workmen recovered five Bronze Age burial urns from a drain trench in Water Lane, the site being 'on the north side of the cattle market, in the middle of the Road where the land rises above the flood line, and immediately opposite the middle house of the first row of cottages on the north side of the lane'.<1><2><3>
