Full Description
House, of two tenements and a shop. Probably built in the 16th century and has a weather-boarded cross-wing at the W. end. the upper storey projects on the N side of the main block.<1>
The weather-boarding continued from No. 97. Two storeys, the roofs tiled. The upper storey of No. 99 projects on the north front and the ground floor has been faced in brick.<2>
Dave Stenning of Essex County Council has suggested that the core of this building is a mid to late 14th century jetted cross wing (pers com).
