Full Description

RCHME survey of 21 Head Street. House and shop at S corner of Church Street North, is of two storeys, timber-framed and plastered; the roofs are tiled. It was built early in the 16th century. The upper storey projects on the E and N sides with a heavy curved bracket at the angle. The projection on the N has an original moulded bressumer and curved brackets springing from attached shafts with moulded capitals. Condition- Good, much altered'.<1>

DOE survey of No 21 Head Street. Grade II. Originally an early C16 house, 2 storeys, timbered framed and plastered, the roofs tiled. Now much altered to a baker's shop and restaurant. The upper storey projects on the east front and north side with a heavy curved angle bracket; the north side has an original moulded bressumer and curved brackets with attached shafts with moulded capitals.<2>
