Full Description
A watching brief was maintained during the excavation of a pipe trench along Maldon Road. The following were observed:
A small pit or ditch, apparently of Roman date.
A layer of gravel opposite Salisbury Avenue. It was about 0.3m thick and its surface lay 1.3m below the modern ground level."<1>
