Full Description

A watching brief was held during the erection of an extension to the rear of 9 East Stockwell Street. "The trench for the foundations was mainly 0.7m wide x 1.5m deep. Nothing but dark sandy loam was visible in the sides. A capped well was partly exposed in the south-eastern angle of the trench. Only the top four courses were exposed; these were of brick. It was impossible to establish its date".<1>
