Full Description
A large east-west robber trench for a Roman foundation which had been at least 0.6m wide x 8.0m long found during excavations at 361-362 High Street in 1983. To the south of the robber trench and possibly associated with the robbed foundations were Roman floors of opus signinum overlying make-up and rubbish (see MCC1506). To the east was a surface built plinth of unknown purpose. Elsewhere on the site were two other robber trenches, one east-west (MCC1499) and one north-south (MCC1500).<1>
