Full Description

A late medieval cemetery was discovered during the excavation of exploratory trenches in the grounds of St John's precinct in 1971 (ECC480). Two of the trenches contained inhumations aligned east-west and associated with pottery dating to the late medieval period at the earliest.<1><2>
