Full Description
House, three tenements and shop, No's 17-19 Middleborough. The house was built in the 15th century with cross-wings at north and south ends. The main block was rebuilt and the whole faced with modern brick. In 1922 the roofs of the two cross-wings were original with a king post remaining in the north wing. There were also some 17th century battened doors.<1>
In the Museum files there is an old black & white photograph showing a range of houses at Middleborough now demolished, including a butchers shop. It would seem to relate to No's 15-19 Middleborough, although a note by the ex curator David Clarke records this as Grub Street? <1>
