Full Description

Early Anglo-Saxon annular loom-weight, one complete and three fragments of others, being rings of clay, found behind Shippey's.<1> This may refer to A.T. Shippey's at 47 Head Street; there is also a hair and scalp clinic by the name of Shippey at 53 Head Street. Sometime before 1961, fragments of two annular loom-weights were found behind Shippey's.<2>
