Full Description
A robbed out Roman wall foundation was observed during the excavation of a pipe trench in Castle Park, 1983 (ECC375). The robber trench was cut into a sandy-clay loam make-up between 0.3 and 0.5m deep. Traces of a mortar floor were observed immediately to the south and other foundations and floors were found to the north (see MCC1286) and to the south (MCC1288 and MCC1289).<1>
