Full Description

Large Iron Axe with winged blade (of type IV London Museum Catalogue 1954, 59-65).<1> This is a Viking type that was current in England over the late Saxon and Norman period.<2> Exchanged as part of a group lot, apparently from River Colne dredging.<1>
