Full Description

During excavations at Oaks Drive in 1973 a Roman pottery kiln (Kiln 35) was examined (Colchester Archaeological Trust Kiln B). The kiln was one of three (see also MCC1226 and MCC1228). The kiln had been almost completely destroyed except for a small part of the floor. A range of products was produced with the only notable exception being Samian ware.<1>
