Full Description

In May 1929 a water main was laid in North Station Road approximately along the middle of the street. Opposite no 27, that is a little south of the junction of Albert Road and North Station Road, a Roman wall was cut through. It was 3ft 6" from the surface and 18" thick. It was only about 1ft high and below it was gravel, full of water. It was 20ft from the building line.<1><2>
