Full Description

Wire notes in a letter to Roach Smith, 'In Victoria Place, at the south west corner, a fine pavement was discovered some years since, but of what character does not occur to me. I remember it was more firmly put together than most of them are, and with a little trouble might have been raised whole; it was about six or eight feet square, and two urns were standing upon it, one partly in the other'. The position is marked on the 1876 1:500 OS map.<1><2><3>
