Full Description

Remains of a redhill surviving as a very low earthwork/mound observed on a site visit by J Tipper on 12th January 2017 with Tenant Farmer, David Sunnocks. Reddish brown earth was clearly visible in the side of a drainage ditch, recently cleaned and/or enlarged, and on the edge of the floodplain. The earthwork has not been survived and the extent has been plotted only approximately.

The 1st edition OS map, County Series Epoch 1 (1874-87), also kinks around (and noticeably avoids) the earthwork.

Note there is a reddish-brown soil visible on the 2005 vertical imagery, potentially another redhill, c.360 to the west although just above the floodplain; this has not been the subject of any further investigation.
